Overview
JUST ARRIVED
A CHANCE TO OWN ONE OF THE FINEST BOATS ON THE CANAL SYSTEM
Built by D C R Boatbuilding for themselves in 2013 Orpheus is one of the very best Northwich replica boats in the country. Not only does she sit and look right in the water but the attention to detail under the water is equally keen which results in fantastic handling.
To have just this shell built now would be in the region of £60,000.00
The Northwich tyle craft is both elegant and practical when it comes to boating and handling and surprisingly light and easy to handle.
From the stern you enter a fully traditional boatman's back cabin with folding bed, table and solid fuel stove. The cabin was fitted out by Rex wain of brinklow boat services to the highest standard and is traditionally painted with scumble and roses and castles. This provides a decent sized bed with the usual storage expected.
Moving towards the bow you enter the engine room. This houses the Lister HA2 air cooled diesel engine that was rebuilt extensively and is a fine example. The engine room is traditional in its style but is also home to the eberspacher diesel heater and mastervolt inverter and and battery charger. There are side doors either side of the engine room for access and ventilation.
Moving forward along the boat the bathroom is found offset to the port side. There is a good size shower, wash basin and cassette toilet.
Next is the galley with lots of worktop space with storage under, washing machine, fridge and cooker/oven/hob with a set of side doors.
Ahead of the galley is the lounge which is open plan designed to take free standing furniture.
Access to the large tug deck is by means of a set of steps and doors with overhead sliding hatch. There are Perspex inserts for the door holes for when weather isn't so favourable. Also a solid fuel stove in the lounge area to provide a secondary heat source to the stylish radiators running from the webasto diesel boiler
Under the tug deck is a large made up double bed. This gives a great space to either become the main bed for the boat or a secondary guest bed when required.
